Dear Westwood School Families,
On April 24th, we will begin our annual assessment of students to help us measure your child's academic progress. This will include the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) for students in grades 3-6. Students will be tested in Reading/Language Arts, Spelling, and Mathematics. In addition, students in 5th grade will take the California Standards Science Test.
Our testing will take place Monday- Friday from April 24th through May 5th. This is a rigorous testing schedule and your help is needed. School performance suffers when children are allowed to stay up too late. Please maintain a regular bedtime and wake up time. Students should also have a good breakfast during the testing period to fuel their brains for success! The Westwood School cafeteria will be offering free breakfast as usual during the two weeks of testing.
Finally, please make sure that your child(ren) are in school, on time, everyday throughout the testing period. We cannot disturb a class during a testing session. Students cannot be removed for appointments. We appreciate your cooperation! We want your children to have every opportunity to do the very best job they can on their tests.
If you have any questions regarding the tests or our testing schedule, please do not hesitate to call. Thank you for your help and support.
A good breakfast is important for school success. Westwood Elementary School serves breakfast every day from 7:45-8:10 a.m. in the Westwood cafeteria. Don't be late!

Westwood Students Dress for Success
How does a successful student dress? Clothes that fit appropriately and give a positive message. Your job is as a student, so dress like you are on the job. Tennis shoes and socks are the preferred footwear at all Lodi Unified Schools. Please do not wear lycra or mesh shorts. Students may wear hats for sun protection, but they should be plain, without writing or logo, and must be worn appropriately.
The 2013-2014 School Accountability Report Cards have been posted online both in English and Spanish for our school.
